And as a bonus, Linux will finally be able to automatically detect NX-enabled processors and turn NX on just like Windows, providing a boost in security. And yes there are 32-bit only CPUs that support NX. In fact, there are 32-bit only CPUs that supports more than 4 GB of RAM, but these are far less common, thus Transmeta, VIA, and even Intel's own Pentium M did not support PAE until they were forced to because of NX.
